Fresh Eyes Cuba Identity
Subject: Exhibition Identity
Instructor: Tracey Shiffman, Nik Hafermaas
Year: Fall 2016
The Fresh Eyes Cuba project was a 14-week intensive studio course, organized around a 10-day immersive trip to Havana, Cuba. ArtCenter and Havana’s Instituto Superior de Diseño (ISDi) conducted a cultural exchange with a focus to experience an exceptional ecosystem of innovation and creativity. The project was conducted during a time as the diplomatic ties between Cuba and the U.S. were re-established, a historic moment for all involved.
The final outcome was expressed through a multi-sensorial exhibition based on the experience we had in Cuba. I was tasked to create the visual identity of the interactive experience. The identity was created in the spirit of Havana, using analog technology to create a visceral feeling of Cuban media.
